Counting Practice Back to School
Worksheets for PreK and Kindergarten

In my newsletter, For Moms With Minis, I share free activity printables designed for kids aged 2-5. These fun activities help little ones practice colors, numbers, letters, fine motor skills, and more. Don’t worry if your child can’t do everything just yet—each activity is designed with different levels of difficulty in mind. The key is to have fun, be patient, and enjoy the time spent together. Every bit of practice counts, and I’m here to support you along the way!

On this page, kids count how many of each object—like backpacks, pencils, or school buses—appear in each group and then circle the correct number. It’s a great activity for practicing number recognition, counting, and visual scanning all at once. The images are familiar and easy to count, which keeps things frustration-free. It’s a nice way to mix math into a workbook in a way that still feels fun. Plus, kids love getting to count items they recognize from real life!
