In my newsletter, For Moms With Minis, I share free activity printables designed for kids aged 2-5. These fun activities help little ones practice colors, numbers, letters, fine motor skills, and more. Don’t worry if your child can’t do everything just yet—each activity is designed with different levels of difficulty in mind. The key is to have fun, be patient, and enjoy the time spent together. Every bit of practice counts, and I’m here to support you along the way!

This Shape Words worksheet is a simple yet powerful way to reinforce shape recognition and shape vocabulary for preschool and kindergarten students. On this page, children are shown a shape in each box and asked to circle the correct word that matches it. Each row includes two word choices, encouraging students to carefully observe the shape before selecting the correct answer. Shapes included on this worksheet are heart, square, triangle, semicircle, star, circle, hexagon, rectangle, trapezoid, and rhombus.

This activity is perfect for strengthening early math, visual discrimination, and beginning reading skills at once. Students must not only recognize the shape but also read (or identify) the correct shape word. For emerging readers, this page works wonderfully in small groups, math centers, or one-on-one practice where teachers or parents can read the word choices aloud. For more confident kindergarten learners, it’s a great way to reinforce geometry vocabulary through independent practice.
